WCT Advisory was established on 1 July 2019 as a specialist financial advisory firm primarily concentrating on advising company directors and business owners when facing financial distress, as well as undertaking formal insolvency appointments. In addition to that primary focus, the firm also undertakes some corporate finance engagements including capital raising, due diligence and transaction advisory.

After 4 years, WCT Advisory now have offices in both Brisbane and Adelaide with three main service areas:

Restructuring Advisory

The WCT Advisory team engage with key stakeholders to assist and guide a restructure of companies and businesses. We plan and implement a formal or informal restructure, advise on potential outcomes and work to achieve the best possible result in a wide range of industries and geographic locations.

Restructuring Advisory services include:

  1. Director/Company Side Advisory

a. Crisis management and maintaining and stabilising financially distressed businesses

b. Monitoring engagements and post-restructure support

c. Appointments as non-executive and independent directors to implement and monitor operational and financial restructurings or resolve disputes

d. Independent company and business reviews and reporting to stakeholders

e. Cashflow forecasting, assessment and monitoring

f. Assisting in negotiations and informal restructuring processes

g. Conducting analysis and reporting on options and recommended strategy, and execution of that strategy

h. Reporting on insolvency scenarios/outcomes

i. Acting as qualified safe harbour advisor, and small business restructuring practitioner

j. Assisting with farm debt mediation and efforts to resolve matters relating to farm business debts

a. Representation and advice in restructuring process (formal appointment or informal workouts)

b. Representation or attendance at creditors meetings

c. Assistance in defending voidable transaction and other claims from trustees and liquidators

d. Debt recovery assistance including preparing and lodging claims in external administrations

a. Practical litigation support and strategic advisory

Insolvency

Whilst our main aim is to provide solutions for and to restructure businesses, the Partners of WCT Advisory are a former registered liquidator of over 39 years’ experience, and a current registered liquidator and registered trustee with over 22 years’ experience at Australia’s foremost insolvency and advisory firms.

Insolvency services include:

  1. Insolvency Assistance

a. Assistance to directors in meeting statutory obligations

b. Formulating deed of company arrangement proposals including forecasts to support future trading

c. Formulating annulment proposals

d. Assistance in defending voidable transaction claims (bankruptcy and liquidation)

Corporate Finance

The WCT Advisory team works with clients throughout Australia and internationally, whether buyers, sellers, investors or lenders, throughout a transaction or investment timeline.

Corporate Finance services include:

a. Preparing the business for sale

b. Assisting with obtaining business and asset valuations

c. Developing a strategy for marketing the business

d. Researching and identifying potential buyers and working with any agents

e. Assisting in the preparation of a sale memorandum
